Job Description
Title: Mental Health and Psychological Support Officer
Reporting to: Project Manager-CBP Head Office
Unit: Programme

Key Summary of Position
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Psychologist will work in close coordination with targeted project areas to train members of the Afghan refugee and host community on non-specialised mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services. Other duties include.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To assess patients’ needs, abilities or behaviour using interviews, direct observation, tests, and a variety of tools/methods
- To offer therapy for difficulties relating to anxiety, depression, addictions, social and interpersonal problems and increasingly, a range of challenging problems
- To contribute to the rehabilitation of patients in the community by demonstrating psychological approaches in their lives
- To refer patients to specialists or to other institutions/organisations for non-counselling treatment of problems
- Provide referrals when necessary for additional care, evaluation, or treatment
- To record and monitor patients' progress through regular meetings or sessions
- Offer services to all age groups, genders, religion groups of people
- Compile and ensure timely submission of daily/monthly reports and records
- Analyse data such as interview notes, test results, and reference manuals in order to identify symptoms and to diagnose the nature of clients' problems.
- Counsel individuals, groups, or families to help them understand problems, define goals, and develop realistic action plans.
- Identify and document success stories, best practices and lessons learned.
- Carry out awareness-raising sessions and outreach activities in the targeted community.
- Diagnosing or evaluating mental and emotional disorders of individuals and formulating and creating personalised interventions, treatments and management plans and treatment methods such as psychotherapy, behaviour modification and stress reduction therapy for patients.
- Provides crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
- Assessing a community's needs, abilities or behaviour using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of behaviour.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside CBP officers, an education officer, a legal officer, etc.
- Providing consultation on mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, and addiction, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behaviour.
- Provide Case Management and psychosocial support to individuals, families, and communities.
- Provide outreach services and home visits, where required and feasible.
- Lead on the identification and mapping of community services in the area and ensure an up-to-date.
- Offer services to all age, gender, religion groups of people
- Identify, establish, and strengthen referral pathways for clients to ensure they are linked to needed services.
- Provide awareness sessions on services available and facilitate referrals.
- Adhere to all Inspire Pakistan and UNHCR protocols and procedures surrounding case documentation, confidentiality, and security.
- Training of staff, OV’s and POC’s on mental health.
- Identification and referral of protection cases to UNHCR for ECA.
- Liaise with general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to support clients in need of MHPSS through the referral, diagnosis, and treatment process.
- Represent Inspire Pakistan at all key stakeholder meetings.
- Conduct other MHPSS-related activities as requested.
- Compile and ensure timely submission of daily/monthly reports and records
