Job Overview/Summary. 

The position of Field Engineer is responsible to deal with the design (Bill of quantity-BoQ), construction/ maintenance / repair of the physical and natural build environment including but not limited to, work like roads/pavements, bridges, water channels, water pounds, water tanks, gabions structure walls, mini dams, sanitation & sewerage systems and buildings etc. He/she is also responsible for monitoring and supervision of construction supervisors and construction work under progress ensuring quality & quantity of the material and specification of architectural alignment and specification as well as the design’s (BoQ) specifications. He/she is also responsible for timely completion of construction/maintenance/repair work in line with the work order and contractual obligations.  .

Major Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the construction /repair /maintenance work plans, designs, drawings & estimates and Monitor & supervise the construction /repair /maintenance work and construction supervisors in the field

• Developing high quality Bill of Quantity (BoQ) of each project/assignment based on Market feasibility report and get it approve by the competent authority before quotation/tendering process

• Developing Site Feasibility focusing, but not limited to, cross examining and ensuring actual field location has the potential and capacity as reflected in survey report, maps, drawings & blueprint etc and also support his/her Site Feasibility report through photographs, aerial photography and other visual

• Adopting all relevant requirements around  engineering works such as, but not limited to,   building permits, building code, environmental regulations, sanitary designs,  safety & security measures, child/disable/old aged friendly measures and good manufacturing practices in all projects/assignments

• Inspect project sites to monitor progress, conformance to design, specifications, quality assurance, production versus operation, use and management of construction material & equipment’s and extend on spot technical support and advice, guidelines and technical back stop mechnisiam to ground level workers, professionals and contractor & sub-contractors

• Extend technical support and coordinate with admin department for preparing and calling tenders & evaluation and take part in negotiation with contractors/vendors by admin department for the purpose of ensuring technical support along with the rate ceilings

• Certify all payments and requests, claims of contractor/sub-contractor/vendors/field workers after verification of work perform at sites

• Provide technical support to the AZAT Foundation in any contractual issues or additional construction that might incur extra cost, ensure adherence to cost and time line as well as advising on the importance/relevancy/ implications on cost/quality/timelines of any specification or scope changes requested by contractor/ sub contractor /Donor in this respect variation to the contracts (time and cost), if any, shall be verified and make recommendation to AZAT Foundation at timely manner

• Ensure arrangement, Supervision and management of manpower, materials, equipment, tools and all other resources at site

• Developing and submitting Work Completion Status Report (WCSR) stipulated with “Work Completion Certificate (WCC)” from respective competent authority of the construction project/assignments from inception to completion before closing of the projects/assignments and final payment to the contractor/sub-contractor/vendor

• As & when need arises additional/supplementary task (s) /assignment (s) may also be performed by the FieldEngineer

Job Specification:

Education & Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’ degree in Civil Engineering from reputed universities.

• Minimum 2 year’s professional experience specially served on Management position preferably in development sector.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

• Good knowledge of 3D CAD, preferably Solid Works

• Good knowledge of materials and their properties

• Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as Auto CAD, Civil 3D or similar

• Knowledge & understanding of Social sector approaches, interventions & community based practices. 

• Knowledge and understanding of related intervention, practices, policies, laws, approaches.
